I used OpenSSL to create keystore and self-signed cerficiate. Then used this to get developer certificate from apple. With OpenSSL I could then create the iOS certificate which I needed together with my apple provisioning certificate to export to a valid iOS installer file (*.ipa). Hooked up the iPad to my windows machine and installed it through iTunes. Tadaaa!

Rain-X is a bottled polymer glass treatment that dramatically increases a car’s windshield visibility while driving through rain, snow, or sleet. It works by filling the tiny pores that are naturally present in any piece of glass. By doing so, the precipitation simply beads right off of the windshield instead of penetrating it fully. It’s really effective on cars, but it is also a good solution for preventing fingerprints on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. After applying Rain-X, your screen will feel extremely smooth and will be much more resistant against fingerprints and smudges. Our very own Ryan Burke has ported the easy-to-use ipswDownloader to Windows. The application allows users to download device specific firmware without any fuss for use with redsn0w and other jailbreaking tools, though the Windows port does not show the current jailbreak status. Today in Cydia, three new tweaks for this option were released. They include iDevice Daily BootLogo, Windows7 BootLogo and Windows Shattering Apple Boot Logo. Members of our own forums have also been busy churning out custom animations. To use the tweak, use the following instructions (as provided by bocharwood):

2.) unZIP the contents of the file onto the desktop
3.) SSH onto your iDevice
4.) Navigate to /Library/BootLogos
5.) Create a folder
6.) Copy the 0.png – x.png into the folder
7.) Go to Settings > BootLogo > Folder
8.) Reboot your iDevice

So far this looks like a great app – faster and easier to navigate than Cydia, it’s a shame that Saurik / Jay Freeman is showing exactly the Apple Monopolist Spirit that the jailbreaking community IMHO is trying to get rid of by forcing this package off the official repositories and by even going so far as to contact theme designers and theme it distribution partners in order to keep a hold of his theming stranglehold 🙁
