Treehouses Posted on August 10, 2006 by Robin The Treehouse Company goes about building luxury houses in trees, ranging from GBP 15,000 to GBP 55,000 (and higher). These are total beauties, but I couldn’t really tell if you could actually live in one. Note – site homepage does, but other pages don’t work in Firefox
Trimersion 3D Display Posted on August 10, 2006 by Robin Finally a new 3D VR display – it’s taken its time! This unit stops ambient light from coming in entirely, sports a lightweight design and a tracker that works as a mouse, comes with a gun, allowing you to use it seamlessly in most FPS games. I think it’ll look great in the Flight Sim world as well, as long as there’s view with your mouse option too. Good reviews, but no figures (eg. resolution, weight, etc.). Price is not too bad at $329,-
Space hotel Posted on August 10, 2006 by Robin Another design for a modular space station / hotel for astronauts and tourists, using 7×4 m. capsules. Looking for funding – give it to them, but for heavens sake, use a different launch vehicle than that obsolete shuttle!
Enteractive Posted on August 10, 2006 by Robin We’ve seen lights on buildings and games on buildings using the roomlights etc as pixels. This installation has it’s own interface made out of the the same layout of the lights on the building, you can step on, turning the LCDs on the interface on and off, and silmutaneously turning the lights on the building on/off.
