IRIS sees many colours

Posted on December 18, 2006 by Robin

The Image Replication Imaging Spectrometer is a gadget that sees coloured light views 32 bands in the light spectrum and composits them into the 3 that humans can see, allowing the camera to show low observable (to humans) objects. These images can help not only in spotting IEDs and land mines, but also have medicinal use.
